Together we’re working towards a cure for childhood cancer.

With great sadness, we have made the difficult decision to postpone the CHAMP 2021 event slated for September 18, 2021. With rising COVID cases and the majority of those under 16 still unvaccinated, we feel it is unwise to hold a large gathering and risk the exposure of an already-vulnerable population (i.e., childhood cancer patients and their families).

By postponing the event until Saturday, Feb.19, 2022, we will benefit from cooler weather. We will also have an easier time maintaining social distancing by implementing staggered start times. The CDC believes a vaccine will be available for 5 – 12-year-olds by late fall or early winter. We envision the next CHAMP event as both a celebration and an indication of the world getting “back to normal.”

Thank you to all who have already registered. As a way of expressing our sincere gratitude to the teams and individuals who have registered already, we will host mini, local CHAMP ice cream or pancake breakfast events between now and February, 2022, at to-be-determined locations in communities across Arizona. These events will serve as team building opportunities and will include short “pop-up” block walks and prize raffles. There may also be surprise guests and photo opportunities that help you grow your team.

Let’s turn a negative into a positive and maximize turnout at CHAMP’s February event to impact the outcome of childhood cancer more than ever before and we can’t wait to see you in February (or sooner!).

We’re CHAMP.  Over 2,000 attendees and more than 28 non-profit organizations join together for the annual collaborative childhood cancer event.  We invite you to join us on February 19, 2022, as we raise awareness for childhood cancer causes and celebrate the childhood cancer community.  Start the day off with a 5K run or walk with friends then share a pancake breakfast. Afterwards there will be food, activities, vendors, and dozens of non-profit organizations on hand with hundreds of ways you can get involved and help make a difference in the fight against childhood cancer. September is pediatric cancer awareness month. Join us as we celebrate these brave young children and advocate for the community.

In memory of Kurtis Dale Le Febre.
All donations will provide retreats for families of children currently on treatment for cancer.
